Sri Dev Suman Uttarakhand University Badshahi Thaul is situated on the way between Chamba and New Tehri at a distance of 3 km from Chamba, one of the brightest spots of district Tehri Garhwal, at an elevation of 1676 m from sea level. This town, situated on Delhi-Gangotri national highway, offers one of the most spectacular view of snow capped Himalaya and enchanting Bhagirathi Valley.

The university campus is situated at an elevation of 1750 m on a ridge facing to the east, surrounded by dense oak and pine tree forest. It is at a distance of 8 km from New Tehri, a newly established master-planned township at an elevation of 1900 m and district headquarter of Tehri Garhwal.

Uttrakhand Board of Technical Education, Civil lines Roorkee

Uttarakhand Board of Technical Education has been setup by an act no - 27 of 2003 as passed by Uttarakhand legislative assembly and assented by governor on 13-January 2004 and notified on 15 - January 2004. It provides for the establishment and constitution of Board of Technical Education in Uttarakhand and for matters connected there with or incidental there to. The act is enacted by state assembly in 54 year of India. It shall be deemed to have come in to force from the date of notification issued by the state government. It extends to the whole of Uttarakhand state.

All India Council for Technical Education New Delhi

In accordance with the provisions of the AICTE Act (1987), for the first five years after its inception in 1988, the Minister for Human Resource Development, the Government of India, was the Chairman of the Council. The first full-time Chairman was appointed on July 2, 1993 and the Council was reconstituted in March 1994 with a term of three years. The Executive Committee was re-constituted on July 7, 1994 and All India Board of Studies and Advisory Boards were constituted in 1994-95. Regional Offices of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, the Government of India, located in Kolkata, Chennai, Kanpur, and Mumbai were transferred to AICTE and the staff working in these offices were also deputed to the Council on foreign service terms w.e.f. October 1, 1995.

These offices functioned as secretariats of regional Committees in the four regions (North, East, West and South). Three new regional Committees in southwest, central, and northwest regions with their secretariats located in Bangalore, Bhopal, and Chandigarh, respectively, were also established on July 27, 1994. One more regional committee in South-Central region with its Secretariat in Hyderabad was notified on March 8, 2007.

Pharmacy Council of India New Delhi

The Pharmacy education and profession in India upto graduate level is regulated by the PCI, a statutory body governed by the provisions of the Pharmacy Act, 1948 passed by the Parliament.

The Pharmacy Act 1948 was enacted on 4.3.48 with the following preamble- "An Act to regulate the profession of pharmacy. Whereas it is expedient to make better provision for the regulation of the profession and practice of pharmacy and for that purpose to constitute Pharmacy Councils".

The PCI was constituted on 9.8.49 under section 3 of the Pharmacy Act.

Uttarakhand Technical University

The Uttarakhand Technical University, Dehradun was established on 27th January 2005 by Govt. of Uttarakhand through the Uttarakhand Technical University Act 2005. The Uttarakhand Technical University campus is situated at NH-72 Suddhowala, Dehradun. Dehradun is the State capital of Uttarakhand well connected through Rail, Road and Air transport.

The University has been established in an area of 8.372 hectare and it is the only affiliating University of the state for technical institutions. There are 8 Constituent and 132 affiliated colleges with 33,000 students in various courses .The University imparts education in Graduate, Post Graduate and Doctorate programmes in various disciplines like Management, Engineering, Hotel Management, Computer Application, Pharmacy etc. The University is serving the technical education through its progress monitored each semester, part time Ph.D programme especially designed for the teachers and scientists by giving them opportunity to explore the untouched area of the research. The University in its own campus running M.Tech and M.Pharma Programme in various disciplines.

Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University

Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University was established as a State University vide U.P. State Government notification no. (10)/(865)/15/(75)(85)/64 dated 23 November 1973. It has a rare distinction of taking birth through a powerful popular movement during early seventies in the last century. This movement symbolized the hopes and aspirations of the masses of the region of Garhwal for the development through higher education. The people of this remote mountainous region agitated for opening a university at this small but historic semi rural town of Srinagar. It was an expression of the quest for empowering their future generations for overcoming endemic economic and social backwardness, geographic and environmental constraints, re-assertion of cultural identity and harnessing of the local natural and human resources for development.

Directorate of Medical Education Of Uttarakhand

Human development and enhancing the quality of life of the people are the ultimate objectives of all activities of the Government. The state needs a well qualified man power to handle the health related problems and promotions of positive health.

The department of medical education plays a pivotal role in developing medical, Nursing and para-medical personal to cater to the health needs of the state. The department also has a role to play in establishment and maintenance of well-equipped teaching institutions, which are the premier referral centers from peripheral hospitals. Research is another area of activity for medical education department. The directorate facilitates a comprehensive medical education via various medical, dental and paramedical colleges in the state of Uttarakhand. on the other hand, it also provides standard medical facilities to the patients.

National Council for Teacher Education

The National Council for Teacher Education, in its previous status since 1973, was an advisory body for the Central and State Governments on all matters pertaining to teacher education, with its Secretariat in the Department of Teacher Education of the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT). Despite its commendable work in the academic fields, it could not perform essential regulatory functions, to ensure maintenance of standards in teacher education and preventing proliferation of substandard teacher education institutions. The National Policy on Education (NPE), 1986 and the Programme of Action thereunder, envisaged a National Council for Teacher Education with statutory status and necessary resources as a first step for overhauling the system of teacher education.
